‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Thunder Gun Express’ Review
Once again, It’s Always Sunny proves just how great it can be. Thunder Gun Express saw the gang all trying to go see the biggest blockbuster movie of the year. Naturally, it didn’t work out in the end. Surprised? Then you don’t know this show well enough. However, the ride made for another top-notch episode.
One of the funniest aspects of the episode was that one by one each character got left behind on the journey to the movies, each in exceedingly ridiculous ways. For example Mac couldn’t crawl into a sewer because he is fat now. These moments built upon one another to create comic genius.
Speaking of the sewer, Charlie and Dee’s conversation about the water that would hit them down there was hilarious. This was taken to the next level when Dee ended up stuck down there with water coming in.
After each character would get left behind we got to follow them by themselves for a bit. The best of these was Frank who stole a tour boat to get to the movies and proceeded to tell the tourists how much he loved “bangin’ whores”. It was also a nice touch to have him telling them about all the classic moments he has had with the gang. It was a quick nostalgia trip for those who have been loyal to the show and reminded us of other fantastic episodes.
The ending where everyone but Frank eventually found themselves at the movie theater was brilliant. The conversations they had about how they all got there were brilliant as was Frank’s solution to his exclusion.
Fans you can mark down Thunder Gun Express as another classic episode from season seven. (10/10)
