‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Sweet Dee Gets Audited’ Review
There was a lot of yelling in this episode, perhaps too much. Most of this episode was really boring and recycled old methods for comedy on this show, however the ending made up for it. The two main plots of this episode had Dee getting audited (obviously) and the four others debating over a crucifix in the pub.
Dee’s plot actually worked really well. It was funny and she is one of the few characters on this show who works well on her own. The sequence where Charlie and Mac brought what appeared to be a baby to her apartment was pretty great.
The other plot didn’t fare as well. The character simply yelled things to each other that didn’t end up mattering in terms of the plot of the episode. This aspect of the episode was honestly pretty boring. It followed the typical formula of this show and failed to present anything new as the other episodes this season had done.
However, the ending was brilliant. The writers brought both stories together through the fake funeral of a dead baby. I loved how the whole funeral came together with Frank and Dennis promoting their new cola and the eventual reveal of what was actually in the casket.
The ending brought a lot of hysterical moments but as a whole this episode was not up to par with the rest of the season so far. (7.5/10)
