‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Frank Reynolds’ Little Beauties’ Review
This was such a disturbing episode of this show. A toddler beauty pageant run by Frank and the rest of the gang? No one wants to see that…or do we? Because this is one of the funniest half hours I have seen of this show. Between Dee’s jealousy and Frank trying not to sound like a “child diddler” this episode had a lot of laugh out loud moments.
There were a lot of laughs leading up to the pageant itself, but once that got started we were treated to some of the funniest humor this show has ever given us (which I must say is astonishing seven seasons in). Dee’s song about hating mothers was appropriately awkward with an audience full of mothers watching. Frank’s make-up was appropriately creepy. Plus, how can anyone forget the alterations to “Yankee Doodle” that Dennis, Mac, and Charlie made for the only boy in the contest? Hilarious stuff all around.
Obviously this episode was commenting on the fact that a trashy show like Toddlers and Tiaras is a hit. The gang likes to try and make a profit off of any recent trends, but this was easily one of the most disturbing things they have attempted. However, if you are like me and find Toddlers and Tiaras way too strange to watch for more than 5 seconds, this was a hysterical episode that pointed out all the reasons of why that show is just creepy.
It’s Always Sunny continues to impress this season with another classic half-hour this week. (9.5/10)
