‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Frank’s Pretty Woman’ (Season Premiere) Review
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia started their seventh season in style last night with an episode that had two great plots. The episode didn’t realize its full potential unfortunately but it still benefited from these two great ideas.
The main plot featured Frank wanting to marry a prostitute. I have to mention, as this is my first review for the show, that I love Danny DeVito as Frank Reynolds. He is easily one of the funniest characters on TV right now. DeVito clearly enjoys playing him too.
Anyway, Frank begins to plan his proposal to his prostitute. The episode started a little shaky as the way the plot moved this episode was a little confusing. I can’t really explain why Frank was pretending to be a limo driver. Sure, the sequence was hilarious but I would like to have a clearer sense of how we got there. I won’t dare reveal how the episode ends but you won’t be disappointed.
The other plot this week dealt with the much hyped fact that Mac gained about 50 pounds. To be honest, I was hoping for a funnier sequence to start off this plot, but what the rest of the episode did with it was pretty hysterical. The scene in the doctor’s office with Dennis and Mac was one of the funniest moments from the episode.
This episode may not have been one of the best episodes of the show, but it is certainly memorable and a fine way to start off a new season. (8/10)
