A Rundown of This Year’s Emmy Nominations

This morning Emmy nominations were released and it seems that some of my favorite shows are everyone else’s favorites as well.

In the categories for supporting actor and actress for a comedy series, all six of the adults from Modern Family got nominated. These actors all really do deserve the recognition as the show is constantly hilarious and a joy to watch every week.

Also in the support actress for a comedy series, Kristen Wiig received a nomination for Saturday Night Live. She is easily the best cast member right now and deserves the recognition.

In the lead actor category for a comedy series, it is nice to see that Steve Carrell got a nomination for his final season on The Office. He put a lot of work into and sent Michael Scott out on a really high note. A surprise in this category is a nomination for Louis C.K. in Louie. This is a great show and it deserves recognition, but hopefully this is Steve Carrell’s year.

Jon Hamm, Elisabeth Moss, John Slattery, and Christina Hendricks all got acting nominations for Mad Men and the show got nominated for Best Drama Series. This isn’t much of a surprise but its nice to see that the show has yet to lose any of its luster after four fantastic seasons.

The Emmys  air Sunday, September 18th, on FOX. Check out the full list of nominees here.
